So, I’m trying to figure out the best way to market/share the concept of this book with people, looking at things like Facebook pages and this website, and yeah, I really have no idea what I’m doing just yet. I have been spending time between editing the text, trying to reduce the word count to satisfy what everyone says the agents are looking for; arguing with myself about how I don’t want to shorten the text – I want it to be the type of story that I would enjoy reading: rich with details and context that really let you appreciate the characters and the story, immersing yourself in a world and its’ environs; and then also scribbling notes on a sketch pad, for what the actual namesake sword will actually look like, or what Sarkany will look like (how do you manage seven heads on a single body?) – I feel very scatter-brained, and find it hard to use my spare time wisely, not to mention still taking care of my day job!
My wife was good enough to get me a quality sketching set for my birthday recently, but I’m afraid not even that can redeem my feeble talents…
