It’s been a while since I’ve done an update here, but that doesn’t mean I’ve been sitting idle. Between everything else that goes on in life, I have made a few changes with my plans for Isten Kardja. After getting some professional copy editing support from Deborah Murrell (whom I found through Reedsy) to help me with what I thought was going to be my ‘final’ version of the manuscript.
Of course things didn’t go as planned, and I found myself pulled away to other things ( =day job!). I wasn’t able to come back to this project for some time, and it turns out that was a good thing. I had been too close to the writing for too long, and the time away gave me some new perspective on some of my constructs, and coming back it to now, I have had some great ideas for how to further polish the text to reduce some of the elements that really felt like I was trying to hard.
I have also decided to try to cut the manuscript in half and publish it as the first two books of the series, with still a lot of great material for the third book in the series being developed! I am feeling very optimistic about getting things to the next stage, and am looking for some beta readers to give me candid feedback on the manuscript.
(Please feel free to reach out to me through the contact page on this site if you are interested in reading the first book of the series!)
